Web Standards and Guidelines

Websites are critical for communicating with our audiences. Our university-supported content management system provides editors with the branded templates and content types needed to create and manage our websites successfully.  Visit the Web Guidelines website to learn more.

Web Governance Committee

The Web Governance Committee (WGC) ensures that Texas State websites comply with brand, usability, and best practice standards.

The committee includes:

• Head – Assistant Vice President for University Marketing
• Chief Information Security Officer
• Director, Mobile/Web Systems
• Electronic Information Resources Accessibility coordinator.

Some of the roles the WGC is responsible for are approving third-party companies to work on websites, communicating with websites that are in violation of our web standards, and approving 3rd-level domains.

Featured Search Results

Featured search results are managed by the Mobile/Web Systems team, and are used to help website visitors find resources in a timely manner. If there are any recommendations or requests for featured search items, please email gato@txstate.edu.

Google Analytics

While IT doesn't provide support for the Google Analytics service, the Gato CMS allows editors to enter Google Analytics Account ID's (ex. UA-1234567-1 or G-ABC123DEF4). It is the responsibility of individual departments to manage and maintain access to their specific Google accounts. To learn more, visit the Google Analytics webpage.
